COURSE OVERVIEW

EU Open Category A2 Course.

This is a EU wide Course for the A2 Open Category.  This course covers all subjects that have deemed necessary for Drone Operations in the A2 Open Category additional to the Subjects in the A1/A3 Proof of on-line training course, on the MySRS Portal.There is a written exam at the end of the EU Open Category A2 course.

Our A2 Open Category course is completely online which means you can log in and out as many times as you want until it gets to the written exam. Its available to you to take at your own pace, you can log in and out as much as you want apart from when you are taking your exam, you can only log in and as much as you want within the time frame of the exam. Which is one hour.
Once you take up the course, you will have to finish all the lessons which will roughly take you 3-4 hrs. The A2 license is valid EU wide and valid for 5 years from date of issue.

This Written Exam is 30 questions of multiple choice, you will need to receive a pass mark of 75% to have successfully pass the course.

This Course will allow you to fly a CE marked Drone closer to uninvolved  persons during your Drone Operations, under certain circumstances. It will allow you to fly some areas inside controlled airspace under the Aeronautical notice UO4 – Geographical Zones ver 18. This is explained on this course. The A2 Open Category licence will allow some commercial Operations again under certain circumstances.

You the applicant must have completed an initial application for Remote Pilot Competency this is the A1/A3 ‘proof of on-line training’ on the MySRS portal. 

After you Click on ‘Start Application’  and upload your A1/A3 ‘Proof of on-line training’ PDF Licence. you will have received a reference number (starting with RPC) and your personal IAA number (you can locate this on your account settings screen (under “Mr Sun”)). If the details do not match or you have not completed your application, Survey Drones will not be able to submit this endorsement. This endorsement is so you can receive your A2 Tab on your Remote Pilot Licence. There is a fee which is paid directly to the IAA for this application. EU Specific Category Theoretical Ground School Course

This Course is compulsory if you want to become a holder of a Operational Authorisation  under the Specific Category. You will have to either submit a PDRA or a SORA in order to conduct high risk operations. Specific Drone Operations are considered to be High Risk, where as the Open Category Operations are deemed as Low Risk operations.

COURSE OVERVIEW

UAS Specific Category Theoretical School (2 Day Course).

This is a 12 hour course. This course covers all subjects that the IAA have deemed necessary for Drone Operations on Fixed-Wing. Multi-Rotor UAVs and Vertical Take-off And Landing (VTOL). There is a written exam at the end of the Course. This Written Exam is 40 questions of multiple choice. You must receive 75% of the overall marks to successfully pass the course.
