Drone Licencing
At Survey Drones Ireland we have a variety of courses available to suit your specific situation and requirements.
The EU Open Category A2 Course.
This new course covers the EU requirements for you as an operator to operate inside the A2 Open Category. Prior to you attending this course you the applicant must have completed an initial application for Remote Pilot Competency on the MySRS portal
You will have received a reference number (starting with RPC) and your personal IAA number (you can locate this on your account settings screen). If the details do not match or you have not completed your application, Survey Drones will not be able to submit this endorsement. This endorsement is so you can receive your A2 certificate.
The EU Specific Category Theoretical Course & Flight Exam
This new course covers the EU requirements for you as an operator to operate inside the Specific Category. This course covers all operations that are not able to be complete in the Open Category. You are required to submit an Operational Authorization or a Declaration, this course teaches you how to complete these, and to upload them to the IAA. This is a very detailed course. There is a Flight Exam required by the Operator along with a 40 question multiple choice written exam where you must get 75% of the overall mark.

Here are the documents that you will need in order to receive your SOP & PCC from the Irish Aviation Authority, after you have successfully completed your ground school course and passed your flight exam.
